It looks as if we’re going to get a bit of a cold snap for a few days to make us displaced Yankees happy for the holidays. But, we’ll be back on the links quickly with our new Cat Island Club swag that allows us to proudly display the fern! For those of you looking for some last-minute gifts, we just got a delivery of Foot Joy shirts and outerwear in the golf shop. I guess those UPS trucks are overfull and would rather deliver lightweight packages to your porch than heavy boxes full of swag to ours. Please note, we will be closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, so this weekend is your last chance to pick up some CIC logoed merchandise.
For those of you who wish to REALLY celebrate the season (and many years to come), we are still offering our Holiday Membership specials until the end of the year. If you follow us on Instagram or Facebook, you may have seen our notes about joining the club before year end. We have a couple of options that I’m confident will be attractive to you. But, the bullseye for the holiday promotion is you can join now and pay later. Please feel free to contact me at either number listed below or via email and I’ll give you all the options and details. You can enjoy the Cat Island Club as a member for many, many years to come.
As a member, you can enjoy the first tournament of the New Year, the Hangover Open (how fitting). The Hangover Open is a four-player team with a variety of formats. The day will start with Bloody Mary’s and Bagels, and start the new year off with a momentous day of golf and friends.
Earlier this week, I was talking to a member on the practice range, and we were talking about how much we both loved to hit a few balls, walk a few holes and just “suck it all in” as he so eloquently stated. And then he said, “I’m addicted to this place!” When I pressed him on what it was that captured his heart, he just kept saying, “Everything about it!” “The people who are members who I love spending time with, the golf course, the staff, the clubhouse dining, the pool…. just everything.” I sat back and thought about what it is that makes Cat Island Club so special, and I realized, I couldn’t say it any better.
Last weekend, I watched so many families enjoying our Santa Brunch. I’m hoping that every one of those children who sat on Santa’s lap will never lose the excitement of this holiday. As we grow older, the excitement changes from toys, to togetherness, to memories. What a blessing to be a part of this great club in this beautiful place. Merry Christmas to all of you and cherish the memories.
With warmest regards,
Tim Mervosh
