This weekend is our annual Rocker Invitational. This event pits 8 players from CIC against 8 player teams from Palmetto Club in Aiken, The Cliffs Clubs from the Upstate of SC and this year, we are welcoming our newest club, Cuscowilla Club. This event will include 32 players from the four teams competing in a Match Play / Ryder Cup style format. The overall champion team will receive, what else—A Rocker for the back porch! Good luck to all of the players for the weekend.
We’re also hosting the Beaufort High School fundraiser on Saturday March 29th in the afternoon. If you would like more information about playing in this event that raises funds for our local High School, send me a note or give me a call. I’ll be happy to put you in touch with the tournament organizers (CIC Members).
The Friday Night Fish Frys have been very well received. If you have not had a chance to enjoy Chef Corey’s dinners, you owe it to yourself and family to come out on Friday night and visit with your fellow members. To be safe, I would also recommend that you make a reservation for dinner on Friday nights (reservations@catislandclub.com).
Thursday nights are all about Grass Masters. These fun, 3-player, captain’s choice events are a wonderful way to wind down the week and get to know more members. Tee off at 5:00 pm in this weekly shotgun start and enjoy a robust evening in the dining room/pub afterwards.
We’re only 3 weeks away from the Master’s tournament at Augusta National. For those of you lucky enough to be traveling to Augusta, we’re envious. For everyone else, we are planning a Porch Party on the Oak Patio at the clubhouse. Our watch party will include music, drinks, food from the tournament, and fun and games. Make plans today to spend Saturday April 12th at our first Porch Party! Invite your friends as all are welcome!
Now that spring is here there is no better place to spend your time (with the exception of a car wash to rinse away the pollen). Golf, dinner, drinks, and parties are all here. I’m so pleased that you are here to enjoy this time of year.
With warmest regards,
Tim Mervosh
