Last week there was a major announcement to the membership at Cat Island Club discussing a restructuring of the Club from its current privately owned club status to a member-owned equity club. This restructuring process is indeed a process which will take a few months. This transition will allow the members of Cat Island Club to have equity in “their club” and their future at CIC.
During this transition, the club will be hosting several informational meetings with the membership to discuss the capital projects planned and what the benefits of equity are to each member and future members, like you!
Capital plans for the future include a new irrigation system for the golf course, clubhouse renovations, cart path construction, and a major pool renovation, which has already begun! The pools will have new Marcite shells and a new filtration system that will convert the main lagoon pool and adult pool into saltwater pools. A new deck surrounding all of the pools will also finish off this project. This work is expected to be completed by early May just in time for the Grand Reopening Party on Memorial Day weekend.
Our club will be celebrating the 250-year anniversary of our Nation throughout the year with parties at the pool and clubhouse and as always, our commitment to the community will not waiver. We’re hosting an event this coming weekend for OPFOB. If you are interested in playing and learning more about this most worthy cause, please visit opfob.org to learn more about this organization and sign up to play this coming weekend.
So, stay tuned for future information and developments as Cat Island Club transitions into a new chapter. This new chapter will ensure the club will be positioned with a bright future and local member ownership. If you would like more information about Cat Island Club and the vision for the future of our club, please reach out to me via email or call my office at 843-524-2000 ext. 103.
