By all accounts, we were spared any significant damage from Tropical Storm / Hurricane Ian overnight. Ian made landfall north of Beaufort and for the most part we dodged a bullet for damaging winds and flooding.
After inspecting the Club property and much of the island, it’s apparent that we have moderate debris on the roads with an occasional limb blocking a lane of traffic, but again, no significant damage to the club or surrounding property as of 1:30 this afternoon.
While we’re all thankful that we were spared any destruction or major damage, we will keep our friends and family from Florida in our thoughts and prayers. Also, our neighbors to the north are not quite out of the storm’s path at this point, so we pray for them as well.
At this time, we’re planning on hosting Happy Hour at the Cabana Bar tomorrow night starting at 5:00 PM. We will delay opening the Cabana Bar and Grille until 1:00 and the pool until 3:00 while we clean up the debris and reset the furniture in these areas.
No need to RSVP for tomorrow night, just show up thirsty and happy. We have much to celebrate!
