Now it’s time for the food and beverage team to step up and shine in the spotlight. After many months, weeks and days of waiting, there is indeed a light ahead in the tunnel. Barring any derailments, we’ll be dining in the clubhouse in less than two weeks. The countdown has begun to the Grand Opening of the Cat Island Club clubhouse!
Barring any last-minute delays or hiccups, we expect to have a soft opening in place by lunchtime on Wednesday, September 6th. We then plan to host our Grand Opening Party on Saturday, September 9th. We’ll see the remarkable band, La Bodega, that will be performing from 6:00 until 9:00 while members and their invited guests party the night away, Cat Island style! Then on Sunday the 10th, the clubhouse will be serving our first Sunday brunch for members and their invited guests from 10:00 until 2:00. Chef Lucas will be creating classic brunch favorites while the bar will be serving Mimosas and Bloody Mary’s to cap the day.
Reservations will be required for each of these events, dinner service included. Members, check your Clubster app for directions and additional information regarding the opening plans, schedules, and menus.
But you don’t have to wait until then to party with the Cat Island Club. Tomorrow night is Karaoke Night at the Cabana Bar! We have our chairman of entertainment and fun hosting this great night of laughs and smiles—and who knows, we may even discover some awesome talent along the way. No reservations are required for Karaoke Night at the Cabana tomorrow night from 6:00 until 8:00ish.
Golf News
We’re so grateful to our members who completed the first Golf Survey. We were thrilled with the comments and compliments. Our course will continue to evolve and get better and better as time goes on. We’re so pleased that you are enjoying the golf experience.
Our golf course will be open on Monday, September 4th for the Labor Day holiday and closed on the 5th. Tee times are available by calling the golf shop at 843-524-2000 ext. 101. Very soon we will launch our on-line tee time procedures. Look for those updates on Clubster next week.
Racquet Sports
Jill will be hosting Pickleball 101 next Thursday, August 31st at 6:00 PM. Please email Jill directly at jill@catislandclub.com for more information and to sign up.
Tennis will be back on Jill’s schedule during the first week in September and you can look for more Round Robin events for both Pickleball and Tennis by mid-September (when it cools off).
Membership
For anyone interested in joining the Cat Island Club family, please reach out to me at tmervosh@resortdevpartners.com to allow me to introduce you to a sponsoring member. During the remaining days of summer (until the end of September) you may even save a few dollars by joining now. I’ll be happy to explain the members’ summer membership incentive to any interested parties. There’s no better time than now to join the club as we check another box with the opening of the clubhouse.
Cat Island Club Life
Don’t forget the Labor Day Pool party on September 2nd. The Bar & Grill will be open 12-8PM, with live music from the Debbie McDaniel’s band from 1-4PM.
Save the date for Friday, September 8th! The Club is excited to host Laura Elizabeth for an exclusive meet the author and book reading experience. “All is Now Lost” is the first book in the Island Mysteries series set right here in the Lowcountry. Themed cocktails and desserts will round out the evening!
The Cabana Bar and Grill continues to celebrate the summer season Tuesday-Sunday from 12- 8PM, featuring Chef’s locally sourced menu. Don’t forget about Happy Hour on Tuesday and Wednesday from 4-7PM!
The Cabana Bar and Grille will begin to reduce hours after Labor Day while the Clubhouse gears up. Members check Clubster for a “rolling calendar” of information each day to make plans for dining and bar service.
So, the last box to be checked is on the near horizon and we could not be more excited and prouder to launch the Cat Island Club membership experience at the clubhouse. Be well friends! Stay safe, stay cool and always stay in touch.
With warmest regards,
Tim Mervosh
General Manager
