Tomorrow’s pool party will include a DJ, watermelon eating contests, tie dye station and, of course, plenty of food hot off the grill. Monday’s event will include a roasted pig and brisket with all the accompaniments. Of course, no CIC party would be complete without a wide variety of adult libations! As they say, “That’s how we roll at Cat Island Club!”
With September knocking at the door, our membership continues to grow each week. We’re so humbled as we’ve shown such steady growth over the past year. The golf course is in prime condition as we enter the fall season. We are extending our Young Executive Golf Membership incentive through September; if you are under age 40, this is a wonderful opportunity to join CIC at a wonderful time of year.
For you brunch lovers, starting Sunday September 15th Sunday brunch will return to the club following a summer layoff. Our Wednesday night family theme dinners have proven to be an immense success, and we look forward to serving Asian Night, Pasta / Pizza Night, Burger Night, and the ever-popular Taco night during Wednesdays in September. Please check your Clubster app for more details and to make reservations.
We’re also thrilled to announce our first Member / Guest Championship during September. If you are interested in playing, please reach out to Keith in the golf shop to register your team soon. For our golfing couples, don’t forget to sign up for Nine and Dine on Friday the 13th. Don’t worry, you’ll have plenty of good luck, provided you hit it in the fairways.
Our junior golf program continues in September as we host the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour on September 28-29th. This event brings in very talented junior players from around the country in a competitive event to sharpen their skills. I’m so proud to congratulate our local PGA Junior League team who took first place in their division this year. The team members are:
- Wallace Simmons
- Marion Simmons
- Hogan Wareham
- Brinson Jones
- Andrew Hollingsworth
- Emmett Dyson
- Henry Amundson
- Hugh Crumrine
- Rawles Moore
- Randolph Murdaugh
We could not be more proud of our team, not only for their outstanding play, but the fact that they are always young gentlemen around the club and great students of the game. I expect that we’ll be hearing more about these impressive players as they grow and continue realizing their best golf in the future.
So, happy Labor Day again everyone. Please stay safe and never hesitate to reach out to me at tmervosh@resortdevpartners.com if you would like to schedule a tour of the club and discuss the vision for the future of Cat Island Club. It’s my favorite subject to discuss so block an extra hour for the conversation.
With warmest regards,
Tim Mervosh
General Manager
