This time of year, is also our time for preparing events for 2024. We’ll be continuing our member’s associations on the golf course with our amazing, seasoned players, ladies, couples, and men’s groups. We’re working hard on expanding our Men’s groups to have more games at set times in 2024, including an Emergency Nine holes during the week and a weekend game where members can compete and enjoy the comradery of their fellow members more often.
2024 is also a year where we will be focusing more efforts on Junior Golf. Along with our Beaufort County Junior Golf Association, we’re also hosting a USGA National Junior Qualifier in June, the South Carolina Golf Association’s 12 and under Championship (the Former Pee Wee Championship) later that same month and the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour in September 2024.
We are hosting the Beaufort Charities “Clubs for Kids” event on the range tomorrow where we’ll host junior golfers aged 5-12 with instruction from local PGA Professionals. I’m grateful to my fellow PGA Members for their time and extra efforts in helping mold these youngsters into tomorrow’s golfers. As a former junior player…many years ago…I will never forget the PGA Professional who took me under his wing and helped teach me this wonderful game and all that comes with it! I’m also grateful to Mr. Jeff Abrams, our PGA Assistant Professional at CIC for his dedication to junior golf in the region and tireless commitment to growing the game.
Speaking of this most wonderful game, there is still time to take advantage of our Holiday Membership promotion. We have four options for Golf access memberships that are sure to fit what you are looking for. This includes one option where you can defer your Initiation Fee until June 2024 and another where you can receive a discount of up to $2500 on the Initiation Fee. The upcoming holiday events where we hope to see all members and their guests:
- Saturday, December 23rd, Member’s Holiday Dinner featuring filet mignon and lobster. There is still time to make reservations, reservations@catislandclub.com.
- Sunday, December 24th, Santa Brunch with the big guy himself in attendance.
- The Club is closed on Christmas Day and December 26th.
- Friday, December 29th, Prime Rib night! Everyone’s favorite.
- Sunday, December 31st, Brunch & Bubbles from 10:00 until 2:00.
- The clubhouse closes at 3:00 on New Year’s Eve.
- Monday, January 1, 2024, Ring in the New Year with our Bloody’s and Bagels golf event. Members and their guests are welcome to sign up for this better ball of 4 event.
- New Year’s Day continues with an Oyster Roast at the Clubhouse from 2:00 until 5:00.
- The Club is closed on Tuesday, January 2nd.
Also note that each Tuesday in December is our Pot of Gold Dinner where members can win a pot of cash during dinner service and each Wednesday is our Family Buffet Night. Next week’s “Pot” is up to $600, and the Family Night buffet is the ever popular “Chicken Night.” Please make your reservations early as the pot grows and the families come to town, it’s sure to be “the” place to be during the week.
