We hosted so many great events during the year. Our golf calendar was highlighted by our new Grass Masters each week. This 9-hole scramble format will return in 2025 on March 13th. We started 2024 off with our Bloody Mary Open and we’ve picked up a new title for this event for 2025, the Hangover Open. We learn from experience! This event is a four-player event over 18 holes that starts the day with Bloody Mary’s and bagels. We’ll end the day around the fire pit on the Oak Patio to kick-off the new year with several good luck toasts and Chef Corey’s traditional good luck food.
We crowned several new Champions on the golf course in 2024 and we’ll be looking for them to defend their titles in 2025 when we host our Club Championships, Member / Members and Member/ Guest majors in the new year.
Our Food and Beverage department was also a shining light during the past year. We hosted weddings, parties, social events, intimate dinners and “festive” parties in the clubhouse and pool area during 2024. The memories were too many to count and the fun will continue into next year. We have some great events planned already and our staple events will always be on the calendar. Before you know it, we’ll be hosting the biggest event of the year, Memorial Day at the pool. Music, dancing, swimming and plenty of food and beverages for everyone’s pleasure.
If you are looking for a wedding venue in 2025, please reach out to the Club as we still have available dates. If your organization is looking for a new location to meet and enjoy the ambiance of the clubhouse, we can help with that as well. Our banquet room is a perfect place to meet and if you plan properly, you’ll still have time to play golf on our George Cobb classic course.
Please note, our clubhouse will be closed on Mondays and Tuesday during January and February. Golf Operations will be open on Tuesdays, but the entire club will close each Monday during the year. As a result of our winter hours, our Men’s Senior Group will have their “official” play days on Fridays during January and February.
I certainly hope that your homes were full of family and friends as ours was over the Christmas holiday and on behalf of the entire Cat Island Club team, we wish you many blessings in 2025. Let’s make it the very best year ever!
With warmest regards,
Tim Mervosh
