But first, we’re going to celebrate Women’s Golf Month. If you are reading this late Friday afternoon and have noticed a large group of people on the practice range, it’s our free clinic to celebrate the occasion. We have one of the top teachers in the country, Erika Larkin, on-site for this event. She’s hosting nearly 30 people for an exhibition/clinic on our practice range right now.
Tomorrow, we’re expecting a tee sheet full of Lowcountry ladies to help continue the celebration. For all of you ladies out there, if you still don’t have a game tomorrow, please contact me tonight and I’ll help arrange a game for you at Cat Island Club at the special WGM rate. I can be reached at tmervosh@resortdevpartners.com.
Members, we’re extending our “friends of the family that you choose” guest fee through the summer months. Starting immediately, we’re only charging the family guest rate for ALL of your accompanied guests through the summer. Remember, you can bring as many guests as you wish to the club for golf (3 tee times per day is the maximum without prior approval), and you can only bring the same guest to the club six times per year. So, with this lower rate for guests this summer, you may find out that you have more friends than you originally thought.
Last week, our youngest members enjoyed our first summer camp where they played tennis and golf, swam, and had some great arts and crafts sessions. We started a new tradition of the peace pole where each camper contributed to this work of art and afterward. The peace pole was placed at the pool for everyone to enjoy. We’ll continue to add a pole after each camp, each year to build a tradition that our Cat Island Club kids can look back with pride and wonderful memories of Summer Camps at Cat Island Club. Thank you so much to club member Charlotte Hoffman for joining forces on this endeavor and contributing your time and resources!
In our golf shop, we continue to receive new merchandise every week. This week, we have some beautiful accessories like headcovers, putter covers, key chains, ball mark repair tools and even some adult tippy cups. We also have some new ladies’ lines from Foot Joy and Tail on display—just in time for summer. Remember, members receive 20% off Cat Island Club logo merchandise. We want you to wear the logo all around town and show your pride in our club.
It won’t be long now before members are enjoying the clubhouse for lunch, dinner, family/social events and even Sunday brunch is on the horizon. Our kitchen equipment is expected to be delivered in two weeks. It will take several days to install and set up the equipment; soon we’ll be announcing dates for a soft opening in the clubhouse. Chef Lucas has been preparing menus and both he and Laura Vasquez have been hiring staff members and preparing for the final stages of re-opening Cat Island Club.
For those of you reading this message who are still thinking about membership at Cat Island Club, now is the time. Imagine a place where you can go and enjoy dinner, park right outside the door and always get a great meal without waiting hours for a table. And…Everyone knows your name! That’s just one element of membership at Cat Island Club. Please feel free to reach out to me anytime to set up a time for a tour of the club and allow me to share the vision of Cat Island Club. It’s a spectacular property and a very special place.
Again, Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend with the ones you love, doing Dad things, provided Mom approves.
With warmest regards,
Tim Mervosh
General Manager
