My response to him was that our team has multiple PGA Members and we do, in fact, LOVE THIS GAME. I am a Life Member of the PGA (meaning I’ve been a PGA Member more than 40 years), our Head Professional, Keith Maher, and our Assistant Professional, Jeff Abrams, are both PGA Class A Members. Even our COO of our parent company, Resort Development Partners, is a PGA Member. So, when you are watching the PGA Championship this week in Kentucky and hear the tag line “we love this game”, I can assure you that we really do!
We as PGA Members are here for you and YOUR golf game. We teach the game, plan, and administer the events that you play in, work with our Golf Course Superintendent to ensure our golf course is both fun and challenging. To summarize, we are the “experts” in the game that we all love. To many of us and many of you golf is more than a game, but a way of life. Personally, I’ve been beyond blessed with great friends and memories that I have through the game of golf.
One of the key elements of PGA Membership is giving back. As I announced last week, we’re celebrating our one year anniversary over Memorial Day and we’re inviting YOU to join in the celebration. We’re honored to host Patriot Golf Weekend where PGA Members from across the country are giving back to our communities through the Folds of Honor. We’re opening up a number of tee times for everyone to come out and celebrate with us and make an impact to the lives of so many. The Folds of Honor provides life-changing scholarships to the spouses and children of America’s fallen or disabled military since 2007. Our mission extends to First Responders and their families as well.
We’re opening up our golf course over the Memorial Day weekend (Saturday through Monday) for our fellow golfers who love this game and want to give back to our community. We’ll be taking donations at the Club for the Palmetto Chapter of Folds of Honor. We’re also giving back to each of you in special pricing the enjoy Beaufort’s newest private club. Military personnel, past and present, are able to play for a cart fee only. Without our military, who we love, the game of golf (and life) would look much different. For those of you who have not worn a uniform, you too are still patriots and can help your community through golf. We have a reduced rate for you to play CIC over the holiday weekend and also ask that you help us with our cause. You can learn more about the Folds of Honor at: https://foldsofhonor.org or https://palmettostate.foldsofhonor.org.
Members, we’re hosting a Member Appreciation Party on Monday, May 27th. We’ll be celebrating with a complimentary Lowcountry Boil on the Oak Patio. As you would expect, we’re also serving a wide variety of libations at special pricing. Come by the club from 5:00 until 7:00 for some good ol’ fashion fun with your fellow members.
One last bit of good news for those of you who are reading this message thinking, “that place sounds like a good place for me and my family to enjoy”—you’re in luck. We still have memberships available and as our club continues to grow in every way, you can join now and be a part of the club’s growth. While it’s only been one year since the Marines flew overhead in their salute to Memorial Day 2023, you too can make Cat Island Club your favorite place to be. If you are interested in membership opportunities, please send me an email or call my office. I’d enjoy sharing the vision for this spectacular property and Club. Soon, you too will be saying, “We love this game!” and we love it at Cat Island Club.
With warmest regards,
Tim Mervosh
