The Memorial Day Pool party will be a perfect way to celebrate. We will have music, food, and, of course, no Memorial Day party would be complete without the annual watermelon eating contest. Our 2024 Champions will be honored this year to repeat their incredible talents for a repeat performance.
Summer is all about the “kiddos” of Cat Island. Our summer junior golf program kicks off on June 4th and runs all summer long on Wednesday mornings for clinics and Thursdays for game play. Our first of two summer camps begin on June 17th. The summer camps are full of golf, tennis, and swimming as well as arts and crafts. Our Head Golf Professional, Keith Maher, Director of Raquet Sports, Jill Wilson, and our “mother” camp counselor, Charlotte Hoffman, are so wonderful to our campers. I’m so pleased to have such great people spending time with our young campers. If you are interested in any of our summer youth programs, please call the club for more details and information.
June is not just for the younger CIC members; we’re also hosting a one-day Member Guest on Saturday the 21st with a practice round on Friday the 20th. And ladies, we will never forget you. Keith and I will be hosting our ladies “Sips and Tips” clinic on Saturday, June 28th.
Speaking of “Sips” the monthly “Sip N’ Shops” will be returning to the Oak Patio on Friday the 27th. What a perfect way to add to your summer collections while enjoying a few libations with friends. This event is open to all who read this weekly update.
We are also honored to host the Carolinas Golf Association Junior Boys and Girls Match Play Championship starting June 8th. This event will attract some of the finest young players from the region to compete for the Championship Medal. You are welcome to come out to watch these outstanding juniors as they build their golf resumes.
So, friends, when you are pulling those burgers off the grill or pulling up to the sandbar, just take a moment to remember the bravest Americans who paid the ultimate price for our freedoms. Speak their names and never forget their sacrifices. God Bless them all.
