Along with the new menu, Laura and her team have developed an outstanding offering for tonight’s party.  Starting tomorrow, our Cabana bar will be open for lunch and dinner on Saturdays and Sundays.  Happy Hours and dinner service from 4:00 until 7:00 are also available on Thursday and Friday evenings.  Now that the spring is warming up, the Cabana Bar is the “the” place to enjoy time with your fellow members as you relive your day of golf or wind-down from your hectic day at the office.

As I mentioned in previous weeks, we’re waiting on warm evenings to push the Bermuda grass.  Those warm nights are considered at least 60 degrees overnight.  If you had a chance to glance at the 10-day forecast, you can see a solid plan for Bermuda grass.  Our golf course will love the warmer weather even more than we do.  Ben and his team will be grooming greens to continue to speed them up and smooth them out.  As the maturation of our paspalum greens continues with this warm spell, we’ll see them transform into fantastic putting surfaces by the hour.  We’re also applying a wall-to-wall fertilizer application next week that will have a similar effect on the fairways, tees, and, unfortunately, even the roughs will become more dense.

Our golf course has been open on weekends to date and starting next week, we’ll also add Thursday to the open days of golf.  In addition, we will be open on Wednesday afternoon at 1:00 PM.  This schedule allows our golf course maintenance team to work on specific projects that are required with the restoration process as opposed to the daily operations of the golf course.

Next Friday, May 12th, we’ll be hosting a special Member Appreciation Day on the golf course where our golf members can bring up to three guests to play Cat Island Club with a waived greens fee.  So, for those of you who are not members, and you want to enjoy the Cat Island Club experience firsthand, you may want to find a current member and buy them a drink or two.  If you don’t know a member, just look for the big smiles and resurrection fern logo that they proudly display around town.

Again, if you are not a member, you can be!  Just send me an email at tmervosh@resortdevpartners.com to express your interest.  Our categories of membership are Full Family Golf that allows you and your entire family full access to all of the amenities at the club, Golf, Clubhouse dining, Pool, Tennis, and all family and social events.  Other golf access memberships include our Young Executive Category that extends the same privileges for families under the age of 40.  We have a National Membership for members who travel to the Lowcountry but whose primary residence is beyond Beaufort County and contiguous counties.  If you are interested in a Corporate Membership, we have that option available as well.

Social Members make up the balance of our membership family.  Social Members can enjoy the pool, clubhouse dining, tennis, and all social and family events.  Social Members also have very limited access to the golf course and practice range.

And always remember, you DO NOT have to be a resident of Cat Island to enjoy membership at Cat Island Club and for a limited time, we do have an introductory finance plan for all golf access members.  Our club will also cap golf access membership to ensure that our members will continue to have the most enjoyable experience possible during their membership.  Cat Island Club will be a place where you can enjoy golf, tennis, swimming and then follow up with an exceptional meal in a warm, well-appointed, and comfortable clubhouse.  The best time to join Cat Island Club would have been 11 months ago, when we announced the purchase of this spectacular property.  The next best time to join is today!  Our members are indeed the best ambassadors to ask.
