The Cat Island Weekly Update: October 25th

Oct 25, 2024 | Weekly Update

Dear Cat Island Club Friends,

If you have been reading these weekly articles since the beginning, you know that one of the key elements of the Cat Island Club is to be a positive force in our community. We strive to help our community in many ways over the past two years and now we feel that it’s time to take that calling to a higher level.

I am so pleased to announce that starting next week, Tuesday, October 29th, the Cat Island Club has partnered with the Northern Chapter of the Beaufort County Boys and Girls Club to raise funds and awareness for this most worthy cause. In addition to our own needs right here in Beaufort County, we’re also reaching out to help the children of Western North Carolina, Florida, Central Georgia, and South Carolina who were devastated by the recent hurricanes. The holiday season is rapidly approaching, and we cannot begin to imagine the struggles that so many are facing during this time of year in preparation for Christmas.

So, we want to help in a meaningful way, and we need your help. We want these children right here in our hometown and those that lost so much in the hurricanes to at least feel the love from all of us during the Christmas holiday. Starting Tuesday, October 29th and running through Wednesday, December 11th, Cat Island Club is opening our hearts and our golf course to everyone who wishes to play. Please call the golf shop to make a tee time, Tuesdays through Thursdays for $75 per person for Beaufort County residents and $95 for non-residents (excludes the Wednesday-Sunday of Thanksgiving week). A significant portion of these fees will go to the Boys and Girls Club of Northern Beaufort County and the Hurricane assistance program.

In addition, if you bring an unwrapped toy to the club (whether you are playing golf or not), you will receive an invitation to a very special Christmas Gala at Cat Island Club. On the evening of December 11th, we will be hosting a holiday social where children from the Beaufort County Boys and Girls Club will be on hand to receive these donated toys. Image their faces as your generosity of donated toys bring holiday joy to their hearts that night. It’s been a tough year for so many, but we can brighten the spirit of our most precious children through this program.

I am asking all of you reading this message to please participate in this cause with us and the Northern Chapter of Beaufort County, Boys and Girls Club. Refer to a friend to make a tee time, drop off a toy or simply make a donation. You will make a difference in the lives of these children this holiday season. Click here for more information.

  • Book a tee time at Cat Island Club by calling 843-524-2000
  • Bring a toy or donation by the club
  • Get an invite to the Boys and Girls Club Christmas party on December 11th
  • Warm the heart of a child in our hometown and those affected by Hurricane Helene

With warmest regards,
Tim Mervosh
General Manager
