This weekend is the inaugural Member Guest Championship at Cat Island Club. We’re playing a variety of formats on the golf course to determine the Champion, but all players should have an exciting time as the food and libations are center stage with the golf course. We even brought in a “celebrity” chef for the occasion. Chef George Sheffer from Outdoor Country Club in York, PA is in our kitchen this weekend. Outdoor CC is one of the clubs under the RDP umbrella of clubs and we (along with ideas, equipment, and calendars) also share teammates. We’re thrilled to have Chef George on board this week, as I’m sure the participants in the event will be as well.

You know, when you join Cat Island Club, you do have access to all of the RDP properties around the country. In addition, our members have access to 100’s of private clubs around the country through a network of private clubs who welcome other private club members when traveling around the USA. Along with a great golf course and an outstanding culinary team with incredible service, our pools remain open while tennis and pickleball are always full of fun and laughs. As we move into the fall and holiday season, imagine you and your family enjoying the holidays with so many of your friends at the Club. Trunk of Treat, Thanksgiving brunch and Breakfast with Santa are just a few of our family favorites that you can enjoy as a member of our club.

Last week, I mentioned the Lifetime Founding Membership. This is a category of membership where you pay a one-time Initiation Fee and are relieved of paying dues–forever. Lifetime Founding Members also get some very cool gifts that designate those who have made a long-term commitment to Cat Island Club—and the membership is transferable. I also reported last week that we have “very few” of these memberships available. This week, I’m reporting the “inventory” of Lifetime Founders is even less. Thank you to all of our Lifetime Founding Members who truly humble us with their confidence in us to provide their families a Lifetime worth of memories and exceptional experiences. If this category is of interest to you, call me immediately as availability is now very rare.

Next week, we’ll be hosting the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour for junior players from around the Southeast and other parts of the country. I love watching the young players competing and learning how to play tournament golf; a game like no other for sure.

Our club has always focused attention on young players and children all around the area. On October 3rd at 5:30 PM, we’re hosting a special night for a wonderful local charity that is laser focused on children right here in our community, Young Life. This event is open to everyone who would like to learn more about supporting our children. There is no cost in attending and refreshments will be served.
